Artist Isha Nelson played an important role in the early creative development of the hospital during its original CHIPSA years. Her connection to the space began in 2015, when her brother-in-law underwent treatment there as one of the hospital’s early cancer patients. Through that personal experience, she witnessed firsthand the emotional journey many patients and families faced and felt inspired to contribute through art.

Moved by the experience, she began contributing her artwork and creative vision to help transform the environment into a more comforting and uplifting space for patients and families. Beginning with painted walls and artistic touches throughout the facility, her contributions helped inspire a culture of expression and encouragement among patients and visitors, many of whom later added their own drawings, scriptures, messages, and reflections throughout the hospital.

Over the years, Isha created and donated numerous original works for the hospital that continue to hang throughout the TAM Center today. Her artwork reflects an appreciation for color, texture, light, and emotional connection, with the intention of bringing moments of peace, reflection, and inspiration to those walking through difficult seasons of life.

Originally from the Berkshires, Isha has spent years exploring a variety of artistic mediums and creative influences through travel, design, and gallery work. Her artistic style blends expressive color, layered materials, and organic elements to create pieces that feel immersive, reflective, and emotionally grounded.

Her contributions helped shape the creative spirit of the hospital and remain part of the healing atmosphere experienced by patients and visitors today.
